This seminar is the first in a series of low cost multi-format sessions for not-for-profit organisations to provide high quality legal information so you can assess your organisation’s legal “health”. Through enhancing governance and improving procedures of not-for-profit organisations we aim to improve delivery of community services. Please see the QPILCH website for seminar flyer and registration form. With the presenters and fellow participants you will have the opportunity to discuss matters of corporate governance such as the role and composition of the management committee, relations between the committee, staff and volunteers. You will also hear about recent updates to the Associations Incorporations Act with which your organisation may need to comply. Over the next 6 months subsequent sessions will be provided by senior lawyers all of which will help you make your organisation fully effective and risk averse. Topics to be covered include risk minisation, fundraising regulations and compliance, taxation matters, human resources and people skills.
