Last year Foresters Community Finance Published a report that talked about the possibilities for the development of a CDFI sector in Australia. Building on this report we are launching through our networks the 10 Founding Principles for CDFI’s in Australia. These principles are based on the experience of Foresters Community Finance over the last fifteen years as well as the insights that have been generated form research into international contexts. Connected to the launch of the 10 Principles Foresters Community Finance has established a Face Book page focussed on community development finance in Australia. The Face Book site contains a range of information about CDFI’s and also provides you with the opportunity to make comments about the 10 Principles and other material posted on the site. You can also upload your own material to the site and start discussions on the discussion board. If you are a member of Face Book follow these easy steps to become a fan: 1. Log into Face Book; 2. In the search engine on the right hand side of the home page type – community development finance Australia; 3. A list of options will appear – select Community Development Finance Australia which will open the Face Book Page; 4. On the right hand side of the screen select join; 5. You are now a fan! If you are not a member of Face Book, simply follow the easy prompts on the face Book home page to join.
