Campaigning resources:
1)   Support the statement of support for pay equity:
The statement calls on state and federal governments and non-government funders to commit to provide new and full funding of any increases awarded by Fair Work Australia.
 
To do this:
a) Read the statement and check that your organisation has signed up (visit the page to check),
b) Raise the statement with your employer to join those in the sector, and
c) Once you have signed up Email ACOSS your organisation's logo for inclusion amongst other signatories.

2)   Lobby state and federal governments.
With a federal election approaching we have an important, but narrow window of opportunity to get pay equity and funding to match on the political agenda. Now is the time to lobby federal politicians to commit to funding any decision to come from the Fair Work Australia case.
 
ACOSS has launched a resource kit to support the national campaign to lobby all State and Federal Governments for full funding. The Victorian and ACT governments have already committed to full funding. 
 
The resource kit contains:
  • Information about the campaign and how you can help
  • Joint statement in support of equal remuneration for social and community sector and disability workers
  • Fast Facts about the campaign for funding
  • Template letters for you to send to members of parliament from employers and organisations, from employees, and in relation to private sources of funding
  • Contact lists for MPs and suggestions of non-government funders to approach
  • Information on how to convene advocacy meetings
  • Q&A: how to respond to objections
  • Checklist for lobbying activities
