The recent news of programs being defunded has caused additional stress in the community services industry. This week QCOSS has attended meetings with three government departments to discuss these cuts and sustainability in the sector.

Discussions have led to the need for further engagement with the sector to talk about how government, the community service industry and private sector can work collaboratively to find sustainable and quality outcomes for vulnerable Queenslanders. Being at the table for such discussions is essential in influencing the best possible outcomes to progress a Fairer Queensland.

A number of organisations have provided QCOSS information to build a picture of changes to front-line service delivery and the potential impacts this will have on disadvantaged Queenslanders.  We are collating this information and I urge you to complete the survey if relevant.  This information will be used in ongoing conversations with government and the sector.
