Participating in campaigns and other work

By Joining QCOSS, individuals and organisations across the State help build a fairer Queensland and a stronger sector. Members contribute to QCOSS’s advocacy work as well as inform, support and strengthen sector development projects. The role of QCOSS members in participating in campaigns aimed at addressing social and income inequality and unjust wealth distribution is crucial.

eNews

QCOSS members stay informed through our weekly eNews, which includes information on issues, reforms, opportunities, research, tools, events and job opportunities of interest to the Queensland community services sector. Previous editions of eNews are provided on our website, however, QCOSS members receive up-to-the-minute editions into their inbox every week. 

Access to QCOSS research, advice and support

QCOSS members receive up to the minute access to the research, information, tools and resources that QCOSS develops for members on a day to day basis. We are committed to increasing the spread of our services across the State, whether it is through convening policy forums or undertaking sector development activities and

Conferences and Events

QCOSS members are able to develop skills and knowledge using member discounts to attend QCOSS conferences and events. These events enable QCOSS members to gain access to QCOSS research, advice and support and to network with, share ideas with and support their community sector colleagues across the state.

Promotion and Advertising

QCOSS members can promote jobs and events free on our website.  (They're also included in our weekly eNews bulletin to over 1,000 people).

QCOSS members also receive discounts on advertising with QCOSS through various mediums.

Consultants Register

QCOSS maintains a register of Consultants and Service Providers who provide services or consult directly to community sector organisations and publishes it on the QCOSS website. Only QCOSS members are able to be included in the register. The register also provides the opportunity for QCOSS members to register their availability to provide professional supervision.

Management Support Online

QCOSS members receive a 15% discount off Management Support Online (MSO). MSO is a web based service for NGOs and community based organisations resourcing staff and members of boards and management committees in all aspects of governance, management, operations and administration. It includes templates and tools to download and use, animated training programs with voiceover, good practice guides, links to sites and contacts and a confidential advice service.MSO is an Australian based subscriber service provided by independent management consultants Bradfield Nyland Group.
