QCOSS has for some months now been encouraging the Queensland Government to establish a taskforce to look at the issues of sector sustainability. Cost pressures, which include wage increases, continue to be an issue for the sector. It was therefore welcome news that the Department of the Premier and Cabinet Director-General, John Bradley, expressed interest in establishing a subcommittee to stimulate innovation and sustainability in response to increasing cost pressures on the health and community services industry. QCOSS supports this initiative and hope it is something that comes to fruition in the near future.
