Employment and training

Education and employment are key factors in addressing poverty inQueensland. Although Queensland’s overall employment rate is less than 5%, certain groups such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people, people with disabilities, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are more likely to experience unemployment. QCOSS advocates measures to address barriers to employment, education and training for members of these groups.
