Cost-of-living Webinar Series - Good Shepherd Microfinance - 19 April
Three million people in Australia are excluded from mainstream financial institutions and their banking and insurance products. This places them and their families at risk of poverty and poor social, emotional and health outcomes.

Good Shepherd Microfinance will be joining us to present their insurance product Essentials by AAI which offers simple, honest cover to people who mightn’t have the money for mainstream insurance. Empowering low-income households through electricity decarbonisation - 20 April

ACOSS, Brotherhood of St Laurence, and The Climate Institute are running a solutions-focused conversation with the Community and Environment sectors. The results of these consultations will feed into the Federal Government’s 2017 Climate Review and COAG Energy Ministers Review, and support others to provide input.

These consultations will help us better understand the problems and solutions for low income and disadvantaged households, while addressing the energy trilemma of security, affordability and emission reductions.

Please read the Consultation Paper and consultation questions prior to this forum. If you would like more information about the project please go to the ACOSS website.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has come to life in Townsville and is already making a difference in people’s lives and our community.

This event is the second part of the conversation – how is the NDIS changing lives and the community here in Townsville, what has happened so far and what have we learned, what else is needed and what else is possible?

You are invited to join us for this important community conversation to share what we know about how the NDIS is changing lives and community, what opportunities there are to build upon this, and what is needed in this next phase to turn fresh ideas into action.
