Understanding household energy bills and finding support with financial disputes can be difficult enough when English is your first language let alone your second or third language. This free workshop is for organisations, cultural support workers and volunteers who assist Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) households in Toowoomba and the South West Region. The purpose is to explore with workers and volunteers considerations when working with CALD clients on financial issues, how to engage with energy retailer hardship programs, and dispute resolution services. Materials used in this workshop are designed for simple translation and will be freely available for workers to deliver information to their clients.
