With rising energy costs and the need for action on the climate crisis, it is an important time for community organisations to explore renewable energy.

The new Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan outlines a focus on empowering households and businesses by delivering affordable energy and supporting more rooftop solar and batteries. This webinar presents an exciting opportunity for community organisations and community housing providers to understand a way that they could benefit from this investment.

This webinar will assist community organisations and housing providers to learn how new solar technology can provide major and long-term benefits to community housing residents. Case studies of the partnership between a solar provider and community housing providers will be presented.

We will be joined by:

  • Will Anstee, Business Development Consultant at Allume Energy who will speak about the new SolShare technology, the world’s only hardware for sharing rooftop solar to apartments, including how it works, and the types of dwellings it can be installed on.
  • Jane West, CEO of Bric Housing who will speak about their success in receiving funding support from the Queensland Government’s Community Sustainability Action grant program to install shared rooftop solar on a multi-dwelling community housing complex in Redcliffe. Bric Housing are partnering with Allume Energy on this exciting project which will be the first community housing unit block in Queensland to have rooftop solar, where solar energy is shared between tenants in a unit block.
  • Ryan Rosenbaum, Head of Assets at City West Housing in New South Wales who will speak about their journey with installing rooftop solar in their apartment complexes, including the outcomes and impacts on their tenants.
