As the peak body for social services in Queensland, QCOSS is committed to continuing to keep you informed with the latest developments on the COVID-19 pandemic and how it impacts your organisation and the sector.

At the moment most of us are being inundated with evolving information about the pandemic. Many community services members are asking where to go for reliable information and to get the latest updates for their organisation.

In response to questions from some members, we have shared QCOSS’ pandemic emergency management plan.

This plan forms part of the QCOSS business continuity plan and is being constantly reviewed in line with current developments around the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are in the early stages of ‘Response’ in the plan. Some of the actions we are taking include:

  • Closely monitoring government information and advice
  • Providing regular updates to staff and stakeholders
  • Reviewing business travel, meeting attendance and external events. In the short term we have postponed external events and meetings or provided alternative options such as webinar and teleconferencing
  • We have established procedures to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of employees and their families, including work-from-home arrangements.

If you need guidance on what to include in your own business continuity plan, visit the Community Door website for more information.

We will update the QCOSS website and Community Door regularly with the latest information. The Queensland Health website is the best source of health information for Queenslanders.

As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or updates about what is happening in the community sector. Contact us on [email protected].
