Anti-Discrimination Act Review with the Human Rights Commission

Registration is closed for this event
In May 2021, the Attorney-General asked the Queensland Human Rights Commission to undertake a review of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. This is a key piece of legislation that plays a central role in protecting and promoting equality and belonging in Queensland. A significant aspect of the review was whether any reform of the current law was needed.

The Commission has reviewed the Act and made 46 recommendations. Senior Policy Officer with the Queensland Human Rights Commission, Heather Corkhill, will join us to speak about the review and recommendations, and how changes to the Act can strengthen human rights.
