Community of Practice meeting - Housing affordability and homelessness: Place-based approaches to promoting housing security and addressing homelessness
Access to safe, stable, and affordable housing is fundamental for people to maintain their wellbeing. Under Queensland human rights law, an individual’s right to privacy and to protection of families and children underscores their entitlement to safe, stable and affordable housing. An increasing number of households in Queensland are experiencing rental and mortgage stress with the cost of housing rising faster than household incomes. This pressure is exacerbated by external factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
This community of practice session will consider place-based, human rights-informed responses to supporting individuals and families who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness.
Date: Tuesday 9 November 2021
Time: 1:30pm to 3:00pm
Where: Online via Zoom. A registration link will be sent to participants the week prior to the meeting.
