Community of Practice: Social Isolation and Loneliness - Social prescribing

In response to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Social Isolation and Loneliness (2022), QCOSS, in partnership with DTATSIPCA, has launched a Community of Practice designed for frontline professionals across various sectors, including community services and health.

This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of professionals working with individuals who experience social isolation and loneliness, which can affect people at any life stage and lead to significant mental and physical health challenges. By building skills and knowledge in this area, we can create lasting, positive impacts for individuals and communities.

What to expect:

  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with professionals from diverse fields.

  • Resource Sharing: Exchange experiences, insights, and best practices.

  • Expert Guest Speakers: Gain valuable perspectives on addressing social isolation and loneliness.

  • Interactive Discussions: Engage in meaningful conversations that foster community connection.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Attendance can contribute to your CPD points! Be sure to check with your professional association for details.

Join us on Tuesday, 19 November from 11:00am – 12:00pm (AEST) when we welcome Dr J.R. Baker, who will provide an overview of social prescribing and how it works in practice.

J.R. is the Chair of the Australian Social Prescribing Institute for Research and Education (ASPIRE), Associate Professor at Southern Cross University, and CEO of Primary Community Care Services (PCCS).
