QPAC and Micah Projects present the Songs of Justice concert on 15 October, an event inspired by the music and ideals of social justice. ARIA Award-winner Dan Sultan will lead a cast of more than 200 singers and musicians.
For one night only, Dan Sultan’s rich and soulful voice will resonate through QPAC’s Concert Hall, with his memorable rock, roots and blues hooks. He will be joined by legendary Women in Voice artist Leah Cotterell whose work spans political cabaret to jazz, along with The Voice Australia grand finalist Ellen Reed, singer-songwriter duo Mundy-Turner and Songwoman Maroochy of the Turrbal People.
This concert marks:
- The 10th anniversary of the National Apology to Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants,
- The 20th anniversary of the Forde Enquiry,
- The 11th anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations, and;
- The 1st anniversary of the Royal Commission into Institutional Response to Child Sexual Abuse.
This concert supports Micah Projects and Lotus Place, which provide services and opportunities in the community to create justice and respond to injustice.
