Trauma informed and healing informed practice (In-person)

Registration is closed for this event
Trauma is a term becoming more widely used and understood by the public, and something the community services sector has been learning about and incorporating into practice for years. But what does trauma and healing informed practice look like in a culturally safe context?

This workshop will examine the difference between trauma informed approaches and healing informed practices, and will establish why using both approaches is imperative to a holistic practice framework.

We will:

  • provide practical ways in which trauma and healing informed theory can used in everyday practice
  • invite questions and the opportunity to evolve your own practice
  • provide insight into community experiences.

About the facilitator: Hannah is a proud Aboriginal woman from the Kamilaroi tribe and is the Director and founder of WISE Australia. WISE Australia is First Nations run and owned and is proud to provide a range of services catered to specific organisations with a trauma, DFV and culturally informed approach. Hannah is passionate about empowering organisations with cultural tools to ensure our community has a culturally safe and welcoming environment.
