QCOSS 2019 State Conference – register now!

It is two and a half weeks to go and we are looking forward to what has shaped to be a tremendous event for Queensland, its communities and all people across that state. There is still time to register.

One of the key outcomes of this conference, not unlike last years, is the bringing together of people, shaping mindsets and taking action together. It is the overall action for what we will be able to achieve together that will be the benefit of this conference for you and others across Queensland. We will get a better understanding of what it takes to make lasting social change and how we as individuals can contribute. I am looking forward to it! The full program is here.

Supporting Families Changing Futures – government’s plan

This report outlines the government’s plan for the next five years of reform for children, young people, parents and families experiencing vulnerability. It is a significant piece of work and policy direction by the state government. We defer to the two specialist peaks in this area – Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak and PeakCare who have greater expertise in much of the area. However, our insights are below in an article and I urge you to read it.
