The Advancing Queensland: an age-friendly community grants program provides funding for local projects and initiatives to enhance the age-friendliness of communities across Queensland.

The Queensland Government committed $1 million per year for three years from 2017–18 to fund the development of innovative age-friendly projects. Seed funding is available for initiatives involving partnerships between local government, community and other organisations to co-develop, implement and promote innovative age-friendly projects. Successful applications will receive one-off grant funding between $25,000 and $100,000.

The 2019-20 grant round focuses on innovative approaches, responses and solutions to local issues with a specific focus on the following age-friendly domains (PDF, 534 KB) age-friendly domains(RTF, 269 KB):

  • Social participation
  • Communication and information

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible organisations must be based in Queensland and include:

  • community groups
  • local Councils
  • research institutions and universities
  • non-government organisations
  • for-profit organisations within the private sector
