Community organisations and young Queenslanders can now apply for grants to fund initiatives to help tackle cyberbullying.

Queenslanders aged 10-17 can apply for grants of $500 to $1,500, while community organisations can apply for grants of $1,500 to $5,000.

Grants can be used to fund a variety of projects that aim to address cyberbullying, such as:

  • organising games, activities and youth programs
  • creating information resources, artwork, videos, films, poetry, books or t-shirt designs
  • developing computer games, online programs, websites, apps or social media campaigns
  • other creative ideas that will help tackle cyberbullying.

Young people will need a sponsoring organisation—such as a sporting group, community organisation or school P&C— to assist them with managing the grant funding.

Community organisations are encouraged to apply independently and/or consider sponsoring a young person and helping them develop and deliver their ideas.

If you are a local council, a for-profit organisations or a community member with an interest, we’d love your help to spread the message to young people you connect with and your networks.

Grants will be awarded to successful applicants to implement activities between 15 August and 15 November 2019.

Applications close at midnight, 21 July 2019.
