Queensland Mental Health Commission – Mental Health and Wellbeing Grants
The Queensland Government is investing $9 million over three years in the grants to fund initiatives that improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes in Queensland communities.
The grants are designed to build on existing community strengths, abilities, and knowledge to fund innovative, place-based initiatives that meet local needs. This includes providing supports early in life, across the life course and across settings.
Eligible applicants can apply for up to $150,000 for non-recurrent initiatives that address program objectives.
Queensland Government – Mental Health and Wellbeing grants program
Grants worth $9 million over three years to fund initiatives that improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes in Queensland communities are open. Eligible applicants can apply for up to $150,000 for initiatives and activities that:
- support and promote mental health and wellbeing
- prevent mental ill health by enhancing protecting factors and reducing risk factors
- encourage early help-seeking
- improve mental health, wellbeing, alcohol and other drugs, or suicide prevention literacy and understanding.
The annual grants program will initially run for three years, with the latest round open until 5:00pm, 10 October 2024.
Dementia Australia diversity small grants
Dementia Australia is offering grant opportunities of up to $30,000 (inc. GST) to Australian Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse organisations or groups. The grant also includes two complimentary dementia information sessions for staff or committee members of the successful organisations, delivered by Dementia Australia.
This grant aims to:
- increase equity of access to dementia information and support across diverse groups
- build greater understanding of dementia
- empower staff and community leaders to facilitate conversations about dementia in their community.
Apply before 11 October 2024.
Australian Government – Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program
The Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program assists the NDIS Commission to ensure people with disability have their rights upheld to access quality and safe NDIS supports and services delivered by skilled providers and workers.
The Grants Program seeks to promote quality and safety through grant activities that educate, influence and consult with stakeholders on:
- the rights of people with disability
- quality providers and workers
- a thriving and diverse market
Australian Government – Disability Employment Centre of Excellence
The Disability Employment Centre of Excellence grant opportunity is being provided by the Department of Social Services.
The Disability Employment Centre of Excellence will develop best practice, evidence-based information to help providers deliver high quality effective employment services and supports to improve disability employment outcomes.

Queensland Government – Strengthening Multicultural Queensland
Applications are open for a $1.7 million grants program for multicultural projects that work to break down barriers and create opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse Queenslanders.
The Strengthening Multicultural Queensland (SMQ) program will fund projects aimed at boosting economic participation, building community capacity to address issues such as healthy relationships in culturally appropriate ways, and supporting the positive participation of young people in their communities.
The program consists of two categories – Empowering Multicultural Community projects, and Youth and Community Connection projects.
Eligible applicants are invited to apply for one-off funding of up to $100,000 in each category.
Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) – Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program (CTAP)
Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) – Crisis and Transitional Accommodation Program (CTAP) grant opportunity is being provided by the Department of Social Services.
The CTAP is a capital works program funding the building, remodelling or purchase of new or expanded crisis and transitional accommodation for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV) and older women at risk of homelessness.

Queensland Government – Gambling Community Benefit Fund
Community groups are encouraged to apply for Round 122 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF), which helps these groups to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queensland communities.
Round 122 offers $35,000 grants and is the final funding round for 2024.
The closing date is 30 November 2024.
Queensland Gives – 2024 General Fund
The General Fund grant program supports organisational capacity building of mid-tier organisations with projects that strengthen community by focussing on, but not limited to, Youth, Women and Families at Risk.
Grants are available up to a maximum of $30,000 per individual grant.
Queensland Gives – Regional Grant-Making
The Queensland Gives regional grants program aims to support eligible charitable organisations providing services in the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Darling Downs region and Northern Queensland. Charities and causes supported may fit within, but are not limited to community wellbeing, health, arts and culture, animal welfare, children and youth, education, environment, medical research, indigenous and religion. Please check individual regional grant guidelines for grant criteria.
Applications for grants in one of Queensland Gives’s four regional areas are now closed. Organisations are invited to check their eligibility and apply for organisational capacity through the General Fund Grants.
