Mary MacKillop Today Community Grants
The Mary MacKillop Today Community Grants Program supports small but life-changing initiatives that provide opportunities for life-long learning in Australian communities. The Program aims to help people in need by improving access to quality learning opportunities which allow people to realise their rights, achieve positive social outcomes, and make a difference in their lives and communities.
Preference is given to small or emerging organisations. The Program prioritises innovative and grass-roots projects which are targeted towards those at the margins. Grants of up to $10,000 are available.
2024 Jack Cranstoun Scholarship
Applications are now open for the 2024 Jack Cranstoun Scholarship.
Open to Queenslanders aged 21 to 35, the scholarship provides mediation training valued at over $3,000 and the opportunity to earn National Mediator Accreditation.
You don’t need to be a law student or lawyer to apply – mediation training benefits people from diverse career backgrounds. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to develop their communication and conflict management skills.
Australian Government – Working for Women Program
The Working for Women Program – Research Partnership to build the evidence base for achieving gender equality in Australia grant opportunity is being provided by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Up to $5 million (GST exclusive) is available from 2024–25 to 2029–30 to fund a partnership between the Australian Government, represented by the Office for Women, and a research organisation to build the evidence base on what works to achieve gender equality.
Applications are now open and close 5:00 pm AEST on Monday, 23 September 2024.
Queensland Government – Community Road Safety Educations Grants
One-off funding up to $40,000 is available to support Queensland communities with the development and delivery of effective road safety education initiatives that support people to be safer road users.
Applications are open all year round, with the next round closing on Monday, 30 September 2024.

Queensland Government – Social Enterprise Grants
Eligible Queensland social enterprises can apply for grants valued between $5,000 and $25,000 for capability and capacity building that supports the business to scale up or adapt.

EOI: Strong and Resilient Communities Activity (SARC) – Community Support – Small Grants for Volunteer Involving Organisations
mall volunteer involving organisations will be able to apply for grants between $10,000 and $20,000 for one-off, time-limited projects that build volunteer management capability, and help the organisation to support the social and economic participation of vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
In Queensland, expressions of interest will be open from 9:00am AEST Wednesday, 18 September to 4pm to AEST Friday, 4 October 2024. Following a review process, eligible organisations will be contacted and invited to apply through Volunteering Queensland.
Queensland Mental Health Commission – Mental Health and Wellbeing Grants
The Queensland Government is investing $9 million over three years in the grants to fund initiatives that improve mental health and wellbeing outcomes in Queensland communities.
The grants are designed to build on existing community strengths, abilities, and knowledge to fund innovative, place-based initiatives that meet local needs. This includes providing supports early in life, across the life course and across settings.
Eligible applicants can apply for up to $150,000 for non-recurrent initiatives that address program objectives.
Dementia Australia diversity small grants
Dementia Australia is offering grant opportunities of up to $30,000 (inc. GST) to Australian Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse organisations or groups. The grant also includes two complimentary dementia information sessions for staff or committee members of the successful organisations, delivered by Dementia Australia.
This grant aims to:
- increase equity of access to dementia information and support across diverse groups
- build greater understanding of dementia
- empower staff and community leaders to facilitate conversations about dementia in their community.
Apply before 11 October 2024.
Australian Government – Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program
The Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program assists the NDIS Commission to ensure people with disability have their rights upheld to access quality and safe NDIS supports and services delivered by skilled providers and workers.
The Grants Program seeks to promote quality and safety through grant activities that educate, influence and consult with stakeholders on:
- the rights of people with disability
- quality providers and workers
- a thriving and diverse market
Australian Government – Disability Employment Centre of Excellence
The Disability Employment Centre of Excellence grant opportunity is being provided by the Department of Social Services.
The Disability Employment Centre of Excellence will develop best practice, evidence-based information to help providers deliver high quality effective employment services and supports to improve disability employment outcomes.
