About the job
Role location: Slacks Creek
Role type: Permanent full-time
Pay range: $82,169 to $84,306 a year based on experience, with salary with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available
We are looking for a qualified domestic violence worker, nurse, psychologist, social worker or paediatric occupational therapist who is after an exciting career challenge. The successful applicant will thrive working in a dynamic team to create, for families, solutions that are at the critical point of intersection with the statutory child protection system. Rather than being a case management service, the YFS Assessment Service and Connect program is a time-limited intervention that sets families up for success. In this job, you’ll assist Child Safety in determining whether or not children need protection. You will also provide children and families with the right service at the right time and in the right place, to increase safety, improve family functioning and decrease the likelihood of children entering or re-entering the child protection system. You will:
§ be able to quickly build connection with parents and children in crisis
§ have experience in making accurate family and individual assessments
§ be willing to work flexibly across office sites and outreach into homes
§ contribute to a high-performance team culture
§ be able to quickly acquire knowledge of Child Safety legislation and practice.
Aside from meeting the key capabilities outlined in the related position description available from www.yfs.org.au/about/jobs-yfs, ideally you will bring the following: a client focus, resilience, flexibility, inclusiveness, a collaborative spirit, creativity, innovation and cultural awareness.
