Part-time Counsellor – 30hrs per week

We are offering a part-time (30hrs a week) Counsellor position where service delivery will be outreach in Maryborough and Centre-based in Hervey Bay.
The role requirements are:
· Possession of tertiary qualification in Counselling or Psychology, Behavioural/Social Sciences, or related field and registered or eligible to register with relevant professional bodies
· A demonstrated ability to work with women within a feminist framework
· Skills and experience working in the areas of women’s health or family violence services
· 5 years previous counselling working with women recovering from experiences of gender-based violence
· Requirement to hold a current Working with Children Blue Card and current Driver’s License

Selection Criteria
· Possession of tertiary qualification in Counselling or Psychology, Behavioural/Social Sciences, or related field.
· Demonstrated skills to support women who are at risk of, and/or recovering from experiences of gender-based violence by providing trauma informed counselling and case management to assist in the recovery and wellbeing of women
· Identify with and be able to work within a feminist framework
· Demonstrated ability to research and provide information and referral
· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written, and the capacity to deliver information to a broad cross section of women
· Requirement to hold a current Working with Children Blue Card and current Driver’s License
