Established in 1986, Tenants Queensland is a specialist state-wide community legal service for tenancy law matters and provides free tenancy law advisory services for residential tenants. Tenants Queensland (TQ) seeks to protect and improve the rights of all people who rent their home in Queensland including those who live in marginal tenures such as caravan parks and boarding houses. TQ provides a range of tenancy information and advocacy services including: a state-wide telephone advice service for tenants, tenancy publications, a tenancy law training program, and research and policy development in relation to tenancy law issues.

This position is a full time contract until August 2020 with a possibility of extension. The worker will be located in Brisbane, some travel will be required.
The role will empower and support the DFV Sector by building capacity of workers in the sector and related services to support clients when impacted by residential tenancy issues and promoting housing stability. Develop a Stakeholder Engagement Plan and deliver targeted state wide training sessions along with identifying emerging information needs and develop resources to meet stakeholder needs.
You will have a strong commitment to the principles of social justice; demonstrated knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Queensland residential tenancy laws and domestic and family violence issues. Good conceptual, analytical and organisation skills and highly developed verbal and written communication skills including computer literacy.
