Micah Projects delivers a licensed Occasional Care Service at our Wellspring Children and Families’ Hub (the Hub), providing flexible care to children aged birth to 5 years.   The service is centre-based and available to children of young parents, families experiencing crisis, homelessness, poverty and/or violence and receiving support to address these.  The Hub will also support the delivery of visiting services and clinics and targeted early childhood groups.

Occasional Care services provide education and care to children primarily on an ad hoc or casual basis, where:

• children are under school age; and

• the service does not offer full-time or all-day education and care to children on an ongoing basis.

The service will offer a play-based curriculum in line with the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia. In addition to age appropriate early childhood education sessions, the centre will also promote parent-child interaction and development-centred parenting.

Micah Projects is a community based not-for-profit organisation with a vision to create justice and respond to injustice at the personal, social, and structural levels in church, government, business and society. We believe that every child and adult has the right to a home, an income, healthcare, education, safety, dignity, and connection with their community of choice. Micah Projects provides a range of support and advocacy services to individuals and families.

Micah Projects is seeking an Educator to join the Occasional Care Service. As an Educator you will assist in the delivery of a high-quality and flexible early childhood occasional care service that is responsive to the needs of individual children and their families.
