Are you committed to the protection of children and young people in Queensland and have experience in this field? PeakCare is a Queensland peak child protection body serving as an independent and impartial voice and is seeking a Project Officer to work with the Assistant Director in developing the practice framework for the newly adopted Joint Agency Protocol to Reduce Preventable Police Call-outs to Residential Care Services.
You will bring together the non-government providers of residential care services and government to work toward a shared understanding of the protocol in action, resulting in a practical and consistent practice framework that will guide residential care workers. You will have a thorough understanding of the residential care system, be trauma informed and committed to reducing the criminalisation of children and young people living in residential care. You will have the ability to work in a project management approach, achieving goals and meeting timeframes.
You will be willing to undertake a background check (such as a national criminal history check) and hold a current Open Drivers’ licence.
The position may be held on a full time or near full time basis for the fixed term period. Flexibility in arrangements can be discussed with the successful applicant including a temporary employment contract or secondment from a current employer.
