About the Role

We are seeking a Family Intervention Worker to join us in providing intensive support to families and children by assisting them to provide a positive and stable environment. In this role you will:

  • Provide support to families involved in the child protection system
  • Provide practical family support strategies and appropriate modelling of parenting
  • Complete assessments of family needs through engagement and consultation with the family
  • Provide supervised contact between parents and their children as per intervention plan
  • Coordinate referrals and information on services available in the community
  • Ensure consistent communication to Child Safety

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Behavioural Sciences
  • An ability to understand and describe family functioning in a broad range of cultural and social contexts
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake risk assessments relating to family functioning and risk within households
  • Drivers licence
  • Yellow and Blue Card
