Job Description
Micah Projects is excited to announce the expansion of our Local Link services supporting individuals who have experienced family, domestic or sexual violence, or childhood sexual abuse. We are seeking dedicated Local Link Advocate’s to join our team, enhancing our capacity to support these individuals and their families within the Brisbane South PHN region.
The Local Link and Local Care team is part of Brisbane South PHN’s Recognise, Respond, Refer (RRR) Program, which supports primary care to enhance service responses to people experiencing family, domestic or sexual violence, or childhood sexual abuse. This service is supported by funding from the Australian Government through Brisbane South PHN.
How you will make a Difference:
As a Local Link Advocate, you will play a critical role in the Local Link and Primary Care Workforce Capacity Building program. Your efforts will ensure that victim-survivors receive the necessary support to navigate their healing and recovery journeys effectively.
There are multiple employment opportunities (permanent and fixed term full time/part time), with conditions and salary at Level 4/5 SCHADS Award (dependent on qualifications and knowledge).

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to hold a relevant qualification and/or extensive experience, or a combination of experience, expertise, and competence.
You will also have knowledge of or ability to acquire relevant knowledge of legislation and regulations, such as The Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and the Child Protection Act 1999 and an understanding of the Family Law Act.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply current theory and practice relating to childhood sexual abuse, including using a trauma informed approach to support and advocacy, including ability to conduct risk assessments specific to childhood sexual abuse, develop plans around safety and needs identified is essential to this position.
