Permanent full time position for Senior Domestic and Family Violence Practitioner (Ipswich). The position is an outreach position. A significant portion of time is spent co-located at Mercy IFSS, Ipswich.The Senior DFV Practitioner would be primarily based in Ipswich and surrounds and has responsibility for – Providing trauma informed support to women who are experiencing or have experienced domestic and family violence, and who are engaged with or referred to the Ipswich Mercy Intensive Family Support Service.
Providing services in the IFSS context, that include phone and face to face information and referral, crisis counselling, advocacy, risk assessment, safety planning, case management related to DFV. This also includes attending clients’ homes in the Mercy IFSS catchment area.
Providing a case consultation function within Mercy IFSS, in particular providing a specialist domestic and family violence perspective, with a focus on encouraging and supporting the uptake of the Safe and Together Framework of practice.
Contributing towards the outcomes and funded target outputs of the Mercy IFSS program.
Given the nature of the work and the outreach component, it will be important for any worker in this position to be able to work ethically and with limited direction. Relationship building and maintenance will be an important element of this role which seeks to improve integrated responses in the Ipswich Region, and encourage the uptake of DFV informed Child Protection practice, with particular reference to the Safe and Together Model.
