Spark Employment Mentor
If you understand that not everyone fits mainstream employment or the usual employment support systems, we’d like to hear from you.
We are looking for a flexible and dynamic employment mentor to work with people who have been homeless or experienced domestic violence or other challenges and want brighter futures.
Spark is a non-traditional employment initiative that backs people to pursue their dreams for employment, study, self-employment or volunteering.
As a Spark coach, you will:
- meet people and explore their hopes and dreams
- motivate and inspire them to set and pursue goals
- connect them with opportunities to work, learn, volunteer or start their own small businesses
- help them overcome challenges and find solutions to barriers along the way.
Being successful in this role requires an empathetic approach, a positive nature and experience in working effectively with vulnerable people. You will also need:
- a demonstrated ability to link people with work, training, self-employment or volunteering
- an understanding of trauma and vulnerabilities like domestic and family violence, homelessness and financial disadvantage
- an understanding of support systems.
This exciting full-time maximum term position (12 months) is part of a small team working within YFS, Logan’s leading place-based support organisation.
You’ll benefit from being part of a highly motivated team within an innovative organisation that does great work.
More information about key capabilities is outlined in the position description available from www.yfs.org.au/about/jobs-yfs.
