Globalisation and shifts in the world order are the reasons Laura Barnes believes Queensland communities need support now, more than ever.
QCOSS’ Senior Manager Policy, Advocacy and Capacity, Laura plays a leading role in our engagement projects.
She has more than 20 years’ experience in employment programs and policy in Queensland, holding both government and non-government roles.
Laura also sits on the Regional Development Australia Committee, the perfect complement to her work for QCOSS.
“After so many years working in policy, I was attracted to QCOSS because of the its connection to people and communities. Our place-based work is really important because if we build good communities and strong regions then it will lift everyone up,” Laura said.
Laura is a committed exerciser and frequently competes in swimming and running events to fundraise for charity.
