It is important that I continue to 'sharpen the tools in my own toolbox.' To maintain and enhance my knowledge and skills I use a 70:20:10 framework. 70% of my learning and development is from experience. For over 18 years I have been experientially learning by working in leadership positions within the community services and education sectors throughout Australia (including working for the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority, Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council, Lifeline and The Benevolent Society). To ensure that I have current industry skills I continue to practice as a Social Worker. 20% of my learning and development is from exposure. My social learning includes networking and receiving feedback, coaching, mentoring and supervision.

10% of my learning and development is from education. My formal learning has included studying a Master of Disability Studies, Graduate Diploma of Counselling, Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies, Graduate Certificate in Suicide Prevention Studies, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Social Work, Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management, Diploma of Community Education, Diploma of Community Services, Diploma of Children's Services, Diploma of Leisure and Health, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Advocacy, Certificate IV in Aged Care, Certificate III in Aged Care, Certificate III in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Certificate III in Community Services, Certificate III in Disability, Certificate III in Mental Health and Certificate III in Youth Work. I have recently completed a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and a Diploma of Training Design and Development.

I hope that I can support your professional development by facilitating person centred Nuts and Bolts Workshops (and supportive eLearning and distance education) and Bec-Spoke On Site Training that meets your needs (as part of your 10% formal learning and development). I would also like to provide you with ongoing support to assist in your 20% exposure learning and development (including providing you with coaching and assisting you to share information with your team, organisation and sector) and 70% experiential learning and development (such as empowering you to apply knowledge and skills).
