Ergon is proposing to introduce a new optional tariff aimed at tackling peak demand. While QCOSS acknowledges the work on reform of network tariffs, it calls on Ergon to ensure that its future network tariffs are embedded with consumer related principles of bill stability and simplicity.
QCOSS is looking for Ergon to ensure that adequate assessment and trials are conducted over the next few years on its full suite of tariffs. It is important that this assessment should include the impact on low-income and vulnerable people and the identification of the barriers that may exist to the take up of the new tariffs.
QCOSS will be continuing its engagement with Ergon as it develops the new tariffs and will ensure that low-income and vulnerable people are fully represented.
