QCOSS’ submission welcomes the continuation of the uniform tariff policy across Queensland and addresses a number of key methodological matters. It also calls on the QCA to adopt an approach that does not result in any price increases for regional Queensland. The region has already experienced a higher proportion of disconnections for non payment per population and also rates higher on indices of disadvantage, has lower incomes levels, higher unemployment and a greater proportion of concession card holders than South East Queensland.

The draft determination, including draft prices, is due by 25 March 2016.
