On 28 April 2015, the Queensland Government announced that it will delay electricity price deregulation in south east Queensland. This means the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) must now determine regulated electricity prices to apply across the state from 1 July 2015.

In May, the QCA released a short Further Consultation Paper  to obtain feedback from interested parties and QCOSS has now released a responding submission. In this submission we argue for reduced retail margins, consideration of the customer impact of further increases in fixed charges, and clarity around the treatment of metering charges for regional customers.
