Discover how to develop a proposal that gives you the best chance of success in a competitive funding environment.
In preparation for the second funding round, QCOSS is again partnering with the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (the Department) to deliver workshops and webinars across the state to help community-based organisations respond effectively to funding applications for the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) initiative.
The workshops and webinars will cover:
- What the Department is looking for in funding responses
- Developing a methodology for writing tenders
- How to address the assessment criteria
- What sort of evidence can you use and how to build it up
- Establishing value for money
- How to make your response stand out
- Key pitfalls in writing funding applications
- Checklist and resources.
While the workshops and webinars will focus on the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative, the tips learned will help you with other funding proposals.
They won’t cover details about each of the programs that fall under SQW, how to use the SQW Apps application portal or information that will be covered in the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training Information Sessions.
A representative from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training will be present to answer any specific questions about the programs that come under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.
Attending a workshop you will provide you with the opportunity to network with other participants, learn from their experiences and meet possible contacts for your Skilling Queenslanders for Work project.
If you are unable to make it to a workshop, the webinars will provide you with the skills you need to write an effective proposal.
Previous participants have said:
“I write a lot of submissions but this event was one of the best I have attended. Simple course content and the program flowed making sense all the time. Great discussion and real life examples of how to do better in our writing. Thank you so much. Nearly didn't attend – would have been the No: 1 mistake of the year.”
“Very worthwhile workshop. Having a representative from the Dept attend, as well as the facilitator, gave opportunity for specific feedback about grant requirements.”
“Great workshop and we appreciate QCOSS delivering it in our immediate area.”
Immediately following this workshop we will present QCOSS Connect. We hope you will be able to stay on and participate in this free event and hear what we have been working on at QCOSS and the issues that are currently affecting the community service sector. You will be have the option to register via the same link above.
