Are you interested in sharing your ideas and learning more about working on place-based initiatives?
We heard from people working on place-based initiatives around Queensland that they would like more opportunities to meet and learn together, so we created the Queensland Place-Based Community of Practice. It was launched in November 2018 as part of ChangeFest 2018 and we held our first regional web conference in February. Together we are building our shared understanding of place-based initiatives, sharing information, skills and learnings, and identifying opportunities for collaboration across Queensland.
So far, we have worked together to create Terms of Reference (available here), incorporating a delicious recipe for how we can work together (download the recipe here). We also shared learnings around frameworks, using QCOSS’ Draft Place-Based Approach and toolkit as a conversation starter. Based on the expertise and feedback of the Community of Practice, QCOSS is now developing the toolkit for broader release in April.
Our next Community of Practice meeting will be held on April 16 2019. Registrations are restricted to Community of Practice members so be sure to join us here to be added to the online platform (Network Spaces) where you can find links to register for events, introduce yourself to the group and follow posts.
