In 2022, Queensland communities moved through the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, a series of devastating natural disasters throughout the state, and navigated the deepening housing and cost-of-living crises. Difficult times, however, also brought communities closer together.
This paper provides general legal guidance about what actions QCOSS member organisations can do in relation to the COVID-19 vaccination in order to protect service users, comply with the law, respect their employees and ensure their decisions respect the human rights of service users and employees.
QCOSS acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands on which we are based on, the Jagera and Turrbal people, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
We thank First Nations People for the gift of the Uluru Statement from the Heart. We look forward to supporting work leading to a successful referendum to enshrine a First Nations Voice to Parliament in the Australian Constitution, followed by Makarrata and Treaty.
