Lotus Place is a dedicated state-wide support service for people who experienced childhood abuse in institutional settings with three office locations in Brisbane, Rockhampton and Townsville all providing outreach to surrounding communities. Lotus Place is jointly funded by the Queensland Government, and the Commonwealth as the State based Find and Connect Services. National Redress Services will be co-located and working collaboratively to meet the needs of the population group accessing the National Redress Scheme who were as children in out of home care. The work of Lotus Place is underpinned by the principles of trauma informed practice and an understanding of child abuse, including child sexual abuse in an institutional setting. To achieve this Lotus Place works in collaboration with other services and stakeholders to maximize our ability to provide a holistic response to survivors of childhood abuse, their families and communities.
