Unpacking the Stage 2 Tenancy Reforms in Queensland
The Queensland Government Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy have released the Stage 2 Rental Law Reform Options Paper. Priority areas for the paper are regarding installing modifications, making minor personalisation changes, balancing privacy and access, improving the rental bond process, and fairer fees and charges.
Submissions providing feedback to this options paper are due Monday, 29 May 2023. This presents a major opportunity to ensure the Stage 2 Rental Reforms process results in good outcomes for tenants in Queensland who are currently navigating the rental housing crisis.
This webinar will provide guidance on the Stage 2 Rental Reforms process, unpack content from the options paper, discuss other priority areas for reform, and will also create an opportunity to hear from webinar participants about their views as QCOSS develops its own submission.
This webinar will be co-presented by QCOSS and Tenants Queensland. Penny Carr from Tenants Queensland will be presenting on the impact of these reforms on renters.
