Understanding the Inquiry into Australia’s Human Rights Framework with the Australian Human Rights Commission

Registration is closed for this event
The Parliamentary Joint Committee of Human Rights is currently holding an Inquiry into Australia’s Human Rights Framework.

The wide-ranging inquiry will consider a future Human Rights Framework, including whether a federal Human Rights Act should be introduced. Submissions to the Inquiry are due by 1 July 2023.

QCOSS is pleased to host the Australian Human Rights Commission to provide a briefing to our members on their work in this space, as they continue to engage with the Inquiry. The briefing will provide details on the Commission’s proposed Human Rights Act Model, as well as their proposed approach to a future Human Rights Framework.

Both the AHRC and QCOSS are keen to hear your thoughts on the Inquiry. This event is essential for organisations who are keen to learn more about emerging human rights policy and law reform at the federal level, and also for those interested in writing a submission to the Inquiry.

Contributing your voice on these significant reforms could help to deliver powerful outcomes for the social service sector and the communities we serve. This webinar will comprehensively explore the current Inquiry and provide you with vital guidance and context ahead of the submission due date.
