Good Things Australia: Digital Sisters grant

Start date: 8 July 2024

Digital Sisters is a digital inclusion program to support refugee and migrant women. The program aims to empower women to build digital skills, confidence and connections in the Australian community.

With 55 community organisations, Good Things Australia will be supporting refugee and migrant women aged 18 to 50 years. The program is being designed to be culturally appropriate and build skills and connections in local people, support services and communities.

Participating organisations will receive $10,000 grant funding, training and support.

Groundswell Grants to tackle the climate crisis

Groundswell Grants offer five $40,000 grants, available for organisations tackling the climate crisis. The grant supports organisations creating the social, economic and political conditions to reduce emissions to levels that will avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

Submit an eligibility check to be invited to apply – if successful, Groundswell will email an application.

Good Things Australia: Get Online Week event grant

Get Online Week event grants help community organisations host a digital skills event during Get Online Week, 14-20 October.

Get Online Week events give people the chance to find the local support they need to improve their digital skills and get motivated to learn more. The grants support community organisations to host these events by covering some of the costs involved.

Good Things Australia: Building digital skills grants

Building Digital Skills grants help organisations deliver free Be Connected digital literacy programs to older Australians in their community.

Building Digital Skills grants of up to $20,500 help organisations to support older Australians 50+ through free digital mentoring sessions. A range of resources and support materials are available to help organisations to deliver this program, including the learning courses available on the Be Connected Learning site.

Women in Industry grants are one-off grants of up to $150,000 for projects that help women progress into leadership roles in male-dominated industries.

They also support ideas and projects that:

  • help workplaces and industry to recruit, retain and upskill women
  • increase diversity in industries where men usually work
  • help to challenge the attitudes people have about the jobs women and men do
  • clear the way for women to succeed.

You can apply for funds in one of two grant categories each round:

  • Category 1 – Up to $150,000 for long term projects to create change in an organisation or industry
  • Category 2 – Up to $20,000 for smaller projects or events that support women’s networking, mentoring and leadership, raise awareness, or promote and attract women to work in male-dominated industries.

NDIS: Peer support and capacity building

The Australian Government recently announced a new grant opportunity for organisations delivering peer supports and capacity building supports in the community.

Through this grant round, $40 million will be delivered to eligible organisations over two years, with the possibility of an additional year. This funding will make sure supports continue while governments work together to develop the foundational supports and navigator functions recommended by the NDIS Review.

Applications are now open and will close at 11:59 PM AEST on 9 August.

The Sisters of Charity Foundation provides charity grants of up to $15,000 to eligible applicants. Sisters of Charity deliver practical, real world support to smaller grassroots organisations that can’t find help from more traditional sources.

Once accepted as an eligible applicant, the organisation work closely with you and your organisation to understand exactly what is needed, so we can ensure you receive the best quality outcomes.
