Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) is Queensland’s peak body for the community service sector. Our vision is to achieve equality, opportunity and wellbeing for every person, in every community.
We believe that every person in Queensland – regardless of where they come from, who they pray to, their gender, who they love, how or where they live – deserves to live a life of equality, opportunity and wellbeing.
QCOSS is a conduit for change. We bring people together to help solve the big social issues faced by people in Queensland. Our advocacy and policy development, capacity building work and engagement with the social service sector and the community is all geared to achieving positive social change for Queensland.
To achieve our vision, we work hard to connect communities, our members, the sector, other peak bodies, government and business.
By working together, we amplify our collective voice and achieve the results our community needs.

In joining QCOSS, you are joining a community dedicated to delivering equality, opportunity and wellbeing for every person, in every community.
You will have the opportunity to shape our agenda as we advocate for better outcomes for Queenslanders and lead the campaign for social change.
QCOSS membership is open to
Individuals: people who work directly in/with the community service sector or are interested in progressing the vision of QCOSS. (Please note: Individuals cannot be a current elected member of parliament (State or Federal) or local government, or a current employee of QCOSS, or have held employment at QCOSS for the last 24 months.)
Organisations: a not-for-profit and non-government organisation engaged or with an interest in social, community or health service or social welfare
Associate membership is offered to organisations falling outside the definition. Associate members receive the same benefits however are not eligible to vote or be appointed as a director of QCOSS.
All memberships must be approved by the QCOSS Board.
