Introduction to Qualitative Research Methods

Registration is closed for this event
Have you ever wondered what the difference between semi-structured or in-depth interviews is? Or what are the differences between inductive and deductive, content or thematic analysis? This Research and Evaluation Network webinar is for you!

Qualitative research has a vital role within the community services sector to inform how we capture stories of lived experience, demonstrate insights about service use satisfaction and quality, and use evidence-based methodologies to understand community beliefs, perspectives, attitudes, behaviours and values. Qualitative methodologies provide a framework to explore the human experience and the social and cultural context in which community services operate.

In this session, we explore some of the key concepts and processes of qualitative inquiry and why it’s important.

Join us for a one-hour session with Dr Marguerite Sendall, Visiting Fellow in the School of Public Health and Social Work at QUT.

The session will include:

  • the role of qualitative methodologies within community services sector research
  • understanding the research process from design to publication
  • qualitative data collection and analysis best practices
  • top tips from a qualitative research expert.
